A wave of very cold Arctic air will bring several days of dangerous cold temperatures to the region beginning this weekend.
Officials from the National Weather Service in Paducah say the worst will occur Sunday through Wednesday. Across the region, wind chill values will be in the single digits to the teens, with several hours of sub-zero wind chill values expected Monday and Tuesday mornings.
Air temperatures will reach the 10s and 20s for highs, with overnight lows in the single digits. By Wednesday, temperatures will return to normal, with a high just above the freezing mark.
