Trigg County Martin Luther King, Jr Day Celebration Moved Inside

Due to weather, Genesis Express, Inc., is still sponsoring their 29th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration for Monday, but have moved activities indoors.

The theme for this year’s march was: “We’ll get through these changing times,” but the program is now planned to start at 10 AM at the Bloomfield Baptist Church on Jefferson Street.

President George Radford will present the “Why We March“ speech, and the featured speaker will be Mrs. Tanya Campbell Boyd. She is a 1975 graduate of Trigg County High School, and a 1979 graduate of the University of Louisville.

She is a member of Second Baptist Missionary Church, in Cadiz, where she has served in numerous leadership capacities.

She has worked in the Trigg County Schools as a substitute teacher, JTPA and Drop-Out

Prevention Coordinator. She is also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Music will be provided by the Cave Spring and Pleasant Hill church combined choirs.
