The Hopkinsville Martin Luther King, Jr. March that was scheduled to begin at Freedom Elementary School has been canceled, with the service to continue at HCC.
Organizers announced the march cancellation Sunday afternoon due to the extremely cold temperatures predicted for Monday morning. The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration will be held in the auditorium at Hopkinsville Community College at 10:00, with the doors opening at 9:30.
The School Challenge sponsored by Tom Bell State Farm will now take place at HCC. Students are asked to check in with Mr. Bell upon arrival.
Awards for the MLK Art Contest will be presented at the Alhambra just before the Fisk Jubilee Singers performance at 2:00pm.
The public is welcome to attend the celebration.
