The Murray-Calloway County Hospital Board of Trustees decided earlier this week to restart the search for a new CEO.
According to the Murray Ledger and Times, Murray Mayor Bob Rogers proposed that the board reach out to the five candidates who were interviewed via Zoom last October but did not proceed to in-person interviews.
Mayor Rogers also suggested reopening the application process from January 27 to February 10 for those who missed the previous deadline. Zoom interviews are scheduled for February 11-14. If a suitable candidate is not found, the board may consider hiring a search firm.
Last month, the board announced that Tonda Haigler from Montgomery, Alabama, had accepted the CEO position, but later declined the offer. Current CEO Jerry Penner, who plans to retire in March, has agreed to remain in his role as needed while the board continues its search.
