Man Charged After Hitting Pillar At Police Department

A Hopkinsville man was charged after he hit a pillar at the Hopkinsville Police Department Friday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Victor McClary was seen on West 1st Street before he put the vehicle in reverse and hit the Sally Port pillar.

He then went forward then reversed again hitting the pillar a second time.

Police say he told them he wanted to go to jail and he was found to be in possession of a shotgun and marijuana.

He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, operating on a suspended or revoked license, failure to maintain required insurance, and first-degree criminal mischief.
