Ryker’s Story:

He was born in Fort Polk, LA on February 13, 2003, the son of Ryan Glathar and Michelle Ring-Glathar, and quickly became a native of the Clarksville/Hopkinsville area. The world changed when he entered it, just like every room he ever entered.  The saying, “the wildest colts make the best horses”, sure did describe his progression in life.

Ryker was always on the move! As soon as he could stand, he was jumping. As soon as he could walk, he was running.  The climbing fell in between there somewhere, his most notable physical skill that terrified and delighted, all at the same time.  From very early on if you could not find him, just look up.  You could find him on a slender limb snickering at you.  Or if you heard the garage door, he had climbed it and pressed the up button, …FEARLESS!

Finding sports and the outdoors, he transitioned to soccer, basketball, hunting, kayaking, and anything that was outside or a test of skill. Many games were cherished by parents and friends. In High School, it became Track and Swimming, the first real grown tests of grit. Breaking an arm finishing the 100m hurdles and grinding through the finish of the 500m freestyle. There was no quit in him.

After high school, he turned to the future and worked and lived in Nashville for a year before settling on a Trades Education in Welding. Ryker made ARCOSA his first real stop in working life and yet again never met a stranger. I was often told stories of his willingness to take on the next task or skill to be learned.

After his time at ARCOSA, he decided to pursue a degree in Diesel and Automotive Fields and excelled in the classroom.

Ryker had the heart of a Warrior, he loved and defended fiercely. He fought for those in need and gave of himself until it hurt. He loved in a way that left no doubt. He WAS and IS Love, plain and simple. A true example of how we all should navigate this life, trying to bring everyone along with us, laughing and smiling the entire way.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harlan and Mary Glathar; his maternal grandparents, Tim and Linda Ring.

Survivors include his parents, Michelle Ring-Glathar, Tifton GA; Ryan and Taryn Glathar, Paducah, KY; his sister, Kirsten Olson, Clarksville, TN; his brothers, Michael Gomez, Nick Sanderson, and William Bryan; his aunts and uncles, Laura and Jay Nutter, Carla and Tom Farrell, Rebecca and Michael Orr, Robert Ring and a host of devoted cousins and
