Barkley Water Line Replacement Project Will Improve Reliability For Customers

Reliability is the goal of the Barkley Lake Water District water line upgrade project that is getting underway this week in northwestern Trigg County.

Water District Superintendent John Herring says replacing the old concrete water lines that were installed in the 1960s with new PVC water lines will ensure customers have better service.

Herring says there will be some inconvenience for customers during the project, but the contractor will be repairing damage to yards and property as a part of their contract.

He adds the project has been in the planning stages for four years.

Herring adds keeping Barkley Water repair crews out of the area will hopefully be the end result.

The Barkley Water District is also finishing up a water meter replacement project in the district. More details on that will be shared in a future story.
