Marvin Chewning, age 77, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Born on June 19, 1947, in Hopkinsville, he was the son of the late Homer Jackson Chewning and Mary Virginia Dixon Chewning.
Marvin served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he continued his service at home, retiring from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy.
He loved the outdoors, spending time at the lake with a fishing rod in hand.
Marvin is survived by three sisters, Jennifer Skerrit, Emma Lee Johnson (Jeffery) of Hopkinsville, and Betty Clark (Glenn) of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
There will be no services. The interment will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
