A Solsberry, Indiana man was charged with possession of drugs during a traffic stop on Pennyrile Parkway in Christian County Wednesday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Matthew Butler for his license plate not being illuminated around the 3-mile marker.

During the stop, they could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and he was found to have meth in his pocket along with marijuana, A 9 mm handgun, and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Deputies say he admitted the drugs were all his. He was arrested and charged with possession of meth, rear license plate not illuminated, possession of marijuana, possession of synthetic drugs, and failure to maintain required insurance.
