Man Charged With Drug Possession During Hopkinsville Traffic Stop

A Hopkinsville man was charged with possession of drugs during a traffic stop on Pembroke Road in Hopkinsville Friday night.

Hopkinsville Police say at 7:47 pm they stopped a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Kenneth Herbert for failing to turn on his headlights and during the stop, found he did not have a driver’s license and had an expired registration.

An open alcohol beverage container was reportedly found under the passenger seat along with suspected meth and drug paraphernalia with drug residue on it.

He was arrested and charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license, failure to illuminate head lamps, no registration plates, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, and possession of meth.
