Princeton Man Charged in Madisonville Child Exploitation Case

A Princeton man is facing charges following a child exploitation investigation that began in Madisonville on Tuesday.

Madisonville Police reported that, as a result of an investigation, detectives discovered several sexual conversations between 23-year-old Mason Mayes and a minor under the age of 12. Detectives also reported that Mayes requested child sexual abuse material from the minor.

According to police, Mayes admitted to sending sexually explicit photos to the child and had plans to meet with the child in the coming days.

Detectives located Mayes in Benton, where Kentucky State Police assisted Madisonville Police by arresting him and transporting Mayes to the Hopkins County Jail.

Mayes was charged with procurement or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means and distribution of obscene matter to minors – 1st offense.
