Barbara Knight Cavanah, 85, of Hopkinsville, died on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2025, at Greater Cumberland Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Edes officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky she was born on January 27, 1940, the daughter of the late Carl Langley and Evelyn Hendrix Langley Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Darrel Knight, and her second husband, Worthy Thomas Cavanah.
She was a member of Greater Cumberland Baptist Church, a homemaker, and worked in the cafeteria at North Drive Middle School.
Survivors include her children: Darrel Steven (Kim) Knight of Lawrenceburg, KY, Teresa Diann (Doris Vaughan) Knight of Hopkinsville, KY, Judy Carol (Joe) Geneser of Whispering Pines, NC, Charles Edward (Lisa) Knight of Gracey, KY, Carl Edwin (Kyna) Knight of Crofton, KY and David Bradley (Sara) Knight of Hopkinsville, KY; her sister, Nancy Carol Kirkwood of Versailles, KY. Nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Contributions may take the form of donations to Gideons International, St. Jude Children’s Hospital of the Salvation Army.
