Funeral services for 77-year-old Laura Belle Russell Hester, of Pembroke, will be noon Saturday at Saint Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Pembroke Union Cemetery.
Adams and Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include:
Her son, Robert Douglas (Angel) Hester;
Six brothers, Roy Russell, Billy Russel, Jeff Russell, James Henry Russell, George Russell, Dwight Russell;
Five sisters, Cornelia McReynolds, Francis Russell, Rita Long, Elizabeth Ann Russell, Sandra Russell Taylor;
Five grandchildren;
And three great grandchildren.
Pastor Montel Richardson is officiating.
She died February 8, 2025, at Bradford Heights Nursing Center.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Russell and Cynthia Mae Rawlins Russell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hester Sr., sons, Gerald Hester and Richard Hester Jr.
Very early in life she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Saint
Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pembroke.
She served faithfully as an usher, a district usher and Circle Five Missionary Group.
She enjoyed cooking and working crossword puzzles and was a member of
the class of 1965.
