Patty Cohoon Gamble, 90, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 12:30 until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Gamble was born on February 20, 1934, in Big Rock, TN, the daughter of the late Cloyd and Flois Griffin Cohoon. Patty was an LPN for Jennie Stuart Medical Center and Dr. Terry Fuqua. She was also one of the very first school nurses covering the entire Christian County School District. After retirement, Patty volunteered at St. Luke Clinic. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, where she assisted in the nursery. Patty loved gardening and reading, but most importantly she enjoyed taking care of her family. In addition to her parents, Patty is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Eugene Gamble in 1995; her three brothers, James “Pink” Cohoon, Robert “Tobe” Cohoon, Clifford “Sal” Cohoon; and her four sisters, Lucille Martin, Eva Waldrop, Sara Fish, and Barbara Rives.
Survivors include her daughter, Tara (Dennis) Roeder of Herndon, KY; her two sisters, Jeanette Gilmore of Dandridge, TN, Dell (Earl) Shackelford of Jackson, TN; her grandsons, Chad (Beth) Roeder of Smiths Grove, KY, and Andrew (Sarah) Roeder of Alvaton, KY; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Roeder, Esther Roeder, Peyton Talley, and Blake Talley.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Pennyroyal Hospice or Edgewood Baptist Church Nursery/Children’s Department.
