A Hopkinsville man and woman were charged with criminal abuse after a request to check on two children on Norman Dale Drive Thursday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 24-year-old Felicia Cumbee and 30-year-old Joshua Pedigo were charged after two children were found in the home with no water, fecal matter on the floor, used diapers, and trash around the home.
Everyone was reportedly sleeping in the living room next to a kerosene heater without proper ventilation.
Police say the children appeared to be malnourished and sick.
The children were taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Health to be checked out. Police say suspected meth was also found during the investigation.
Cumbee and Pedigo were both charged with possession of meth and two counts of second-degree criminal abuse. Cumbee was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
