A Fort Campbell man was charged after he fled from law enforcement on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville Saturday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say Kentucky State Police attempted to stop a motorcycle near the area of Pennyrile Ford when the driver 19-year-old Charles Edwards fled reaching speeds of around 120 mph.

The pursuit reportedly came to an end when Edwards lost control at the intersection of East 9th Street and Skyline Drive and hit the back of a Hopkinsville Police cruiser causing minor damage.

Edwards was checked out by Hopkinsville EMS before being taken to jail on charges of speeding, fleeing or evading police, and first-degree criminal mischief.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office assisted during the pursuit.
