Funeral services for 73-year-old Charles “Cookie” Powell, of Hopkinsville, will be 2 PM Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday.
Survivors include:
His wife of 51 years, Beverly Bridges Powell, Christian County;
His son, Jason (Lynn) Powell, Christian County;
His brother, Elmer David Powell, Christian County;
His sister, Charlene (Dave) Bunch, Christian County;
His grandson, Chandler Ryan Powell;
And numerous nieces and nephews.
Rev. Neil Immel is officiating, with Rev. Jeremy Hayes assisting.
Of Ebenezer-Ovil Road, he died of natural causes Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Trigg County Hospital.
A native of Christian County, he was born September 1, 1951, the son of late Rufus Hazel Powell and the late Ruby Jane (Burchett) Powell.
Cookie was a farmer for Powell Farms and a member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Powell; and his sister, Edith Stokes.
