A former Fort Campbell soldier has been sentenced to five years and four months in federal prison, for receiving and distributing child pornography.
According to court documents, last week, 24-year-old Brett Nicolas Ellison was also issued five years of supervised release, on one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
Between November 2019 and June 2022, Ellison received and possessed child sexual abuse material while he was a soldier stationed at the Fort Campbell Army Post, possessing over 90 images and 70 videos containing child sexual abuse material.
U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky and Special Agent in Charge Michael E. Stansbury of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Louisville Field Office made the announcement.
Ellison was also ordered to pay $57,000 in restitution.
There is no parole in the federal system.
