The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to start concrete pavement repairs on McLean Avenue (US 68/KY 80) in Hopkinsville next week, leading to several days of eastbound lane closures.
Starting at 8:00 Monday morning, crews will block the eastbound lanes of US 68/KY 80. Initially, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet intended to keep the lanes blocked until Wednesday, to finish the project. However, due to expected rain on Tuesday, officials said the plan now is to reopen the road Monday night and keep it open until 8:00 Wednesday morning.
The blockage will resume on Wednesday and continue until 3:00 Friday afternoon. State transportation officials said this will affect the southbound Exit 9 from I-169 and the southbound on-ramp from US 68 west to I-169. Traffic will be rerouted via Eagle Way Bypass before returning to US 68.
