Barabra Ann Yarborough, 87, of Hopkinsville

Barabra Ann Yarborough, 87, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, was born on November 5, 1937, in Clay City, Illinois. Barabra was the second of five girls born to Harman and Virginia Yarborough. Barabra met Larry Wilson while on wheat harvest in Watango, Oklahoma, and by the time the harvesting crew worked their way north to Chester, Montana, Larry gained the courage to ask her for a date. They were married in a double wedding with Barabra’s older sister on May 28, 195,4 in Yuma, Arizona. They were married for almost 70 years. Barabra and Larry had three sons: Timothy Lee, Ted Harmon, and James Lawrence; and one daughter: Lori Ann.

Barabra and Larry served in full-time ministry from 1964-1998. After Larry’s retirement, they moved to Kentucky and faithfully served in 19 churches as interim pastor and wife in Christian and Trigg Counties. Barabra was a faithful pastor’s wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Barabra passed from this life peacefully on February 26, 2025. As she entered heaven, she was greeted by her Savior first. Then standing ready to welcome her home were her beloved husband, Larry, her treasured daughter, Lori, as well as her parents and three sisters.

She is survived by her sons: Timothy Lee, Ted Harmon (Paulette), and James Lawrence (Susan) Wilson; her grandchildren: John (Tracy), Jason (Lauren), Heather (Drew Newell), Stephen (Kristen) and Jamie (Emily) Wilson; her great-grandchildren: Monique Ybarra, Sophia and Carter Jane Wilson, Westyn, Paxton and Ellori Newell, Zoe, Mica Rose, Shane, Alivia and James Lawrence II Wilson; her one great-great-granddaughter: Rylee Ybarra; her sister: Darla (Don) Geiman; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. David Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Cerulean Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
