A Hopkinsville man and woman were charged with endangering the welfare of a minor after animal feces along with trash was found in their home and covered the floors Sunday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called for a 4-year-old wearing only a diaper walking around ringing the neighbor’s doorbell and found the child was staying in a home with the door locked with a hook lock on a construction screw.

Police say the home had animal feces and urine covering the kitchen floor, a roach infestation, beer cans, glass jars, and general clutter throughout the home.

The 4-year-old, along with a second child, was reportedly not potty trained and did not attend school, the mother, 38-year-old Tabatha Sisk, told law enforcement she worked 70 hours a week and did not have time to clean.

Sisk and the children’s father, 43-year-old Charles Greathouse, were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
