Considered a leader in craft spirits education opportunities, Distillery University has announced a coming Hands-on Distilling Workshop — scheduled for April 3-5 at Casey Jones Distillery in Hopkinsville.
It will be an exclusive three-day immersion in the production experience, with insights from master distillers, while set against the backdrop of a distillery renowned for its Prohibition-era heritage and award-winning efforts.
Participants will engage in every stage of craft distilling, including:
+ The mash preparation, using Casey Jones’ signature square pot stills, in a nod to its historic moonshining roots.
+ The fermentation, distillation and aging techniques in the distillery’s operational still room and rickhouses.
+ As well as additional instruction on other aspects of starting and running a distillery, including marketing, compliance, equipment considerations, and more.
Attendees will garner firsthand experience and insider knowledge of crafting bourbon, vodka, gin and brandy while learning the science and artistry behind small-batch production.
Led by Todd Buckley, Distillery University’s Director of Education and creator of an award-winning gin that earned a 94-point rating from the Beverage Tasting Institute, he will be joined by Casey Jones Distillery’s master distillers — and participants will be able to leave the weekend with the skills necessary to launch their own brands.
