
State police have released the name of the man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting with a Lyon County Sheriff’s deputy early Monday morning.
State police identified the suspect as 30-year-old Jedidiah Skinner of Smithland.
INITIAL STORY:
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reported that shortly after midnight a deputy was sent to US 62 West in an attempt to locate a vehicle and subject who had reportedly been involved in a shooting incident in Marshall County.
Around 12:20, he said the deputy located the vehicle on US 62 and followed it to the Huck’s Travel Center in Kuttawa where the driver stopped and was involved in a “deadly force incident” with the deputy. Sheriff White reported the deputy was uninjured; however, the suspect was pronounced dead by Lyon County Coroner Kris Dunn.
Kentucky State Police are investigating the incident.
