Howard Eugene Dixon, 92, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky died at 12:50 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2025, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Rev. Paul Ganter officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Trigg County, Kentucky he was born on August 22, 1932, the son of the late Albert Carlton Dixon and Etna Thomas Dixon Miraglia. He was also preceded in death by his wife; Dorothy Nell McCord Dixon, his daughter, Tina Faye Dixon, his three brothers; William Carlton Dixon, Marvin Jago Dixon, and Seldon Thomas Dixon and three sisters; Mallie Estelle Dixon Russell, Thelma Ruth Dixon Wallace and Mary Virginia Dixon Chewning all of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
He was a 21-year veteran of the United States Air Force where he was a Master Sgt. And received Air Force Commendation medals for meritorious service from four separate Air Force squadrons. He also retired from the Hopkinsville unemployment office after 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion and attended the Christian Care Community Chapel.
Survivors include his children: Howard Vance (Janice) Dixon of Hopkinsville, KY, and Gary Lee Dixon of Hopkinsville, KY. Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
