Leadership from South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council remains well aware of Trigg, Christian and Todd County’s standing among the Commonwealth’s best in total agriculture receipts.
According to the Christian County Agri-Business Association:
+ Christian County is first in winter wheat and corn, and third in soybean production.
+ And both Todd and Trigg counties are both top five in winter wheat, corn, soybean and poultry.
They add the tri-county region remains among the most fertile lands in the state, and a young, skilled, growing workforce continues to fuel what officials believe to be successful agri-business and manufacturing.
The EDC says supply chain opportunities are plenty, especially as the successes of agriculture and manufacturing remain.
The SWK EDC, in turn, will continue to build on existing relationships with agriculture-related industries like Hopkinsville Milling, Hopkinsville Elevator, Krusteaz, Siemer Milling, Commonwealth Agri-Energy, Martin Industries, Cal-Maine Foods, Delavan Ag Pumps, MB Roland Distillery, Casey Jones Distillery and more — helping with workforce efforts, communications, issues support, training, and additional activities to assist existing companies in their success.
Additionally, the SWK EDC will continue its work with its strategic partners to identify land and sites suitable for development for agriculture related projects including rail, interstate, and build ready locations.
