Two Charged After Fleeing From Police In Oak Grove

A Tennessee man and woman were charged with fleeing from law enforcement after a report of drugs being sold on Winners Way in Oak Grove Sunday night.

Oak Grove Police say they were called for suspected drug transactions and located 22-year-old Alyssa Mcwherter of Clarksville and 33-year-old Quintez Jewell of Memphis who both fled from them on foot but were quickly apprehended with Jewell having to be tased before being taken into custody.

They were reportedly found to have meth, cocaine, and a large amount of money on them. Police say during the foot pursuit an officer pulled a muscle causing an injury.

Jewell was arrested and charged with trafficking meth, trafficking cocaine, and second-degree fleeing or evading police. Mcwherter was also arrested and charged with third-degree fleeing or evading police and possession of meth.
