A Guthrie man was charged with trafficking drugs after a traffic stop on North Drive for driving on a suspended license Thursday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Demon Smith for his license being suspended, and during the stop, they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
After a search, police say a bag of suspected marijuana, a digital scale, and a gun loaded with hollow point ammunition were found.
Smith was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana, operating a vehicle with an expired operator’s license, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and using restricted ammunition during a felony.
