Names Released In Fiery Interstate 24 Crash

Authorities have released the names of two people killed in a wreck on Interstate 24 in Christian County Wednesday night.

Kentucky State Police say a car was westbound when it was hit by an SUV that was behind it, leading to both vehicles catching fire.

24-year-old Damon Furlough of Calloway who was in the car was ejected in the crash and a second person in the car 24-year-old Sara Hardy of Hazel was pulled from the vehicle by the SUV driver before they both were pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office.

Police say the driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash but his name has not been released by law enforcement. Firefighters from Herndon and Oak Grove helped in extinguishing the fire.

Interstate 24 westbound was blocked for several hours while the crash was investigated.
