Sherrie Defane Bailey Davie, 71, Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, in Louisville, KY.
Sherrie, the daughter of the late Jimmy D. Bailey and Bessie Green, was born on September 7, 1953, in Christian County, Kentucky.
Sherrie was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she was in the choir and the Women’s Ministry. She retired from U.S. Smokeless Tobacco, where she was the first black female to be hired. She enjoyed fishing, picking greens, shopping, and cruising.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Neil Cager, Chester Bailey, and Grafton Bailey; Grandchild, JaKyrah Davie.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Pastor Bailey Davie, Sr.
Survivors include her children, Elisa (Vincent) Hawkins, LaVonda (George) Robinson, Sherneatra (Lamar) Grimes, and Bailey Eugene Davie, JR.; Siblings, Bertha White, Pamela Martin, Roma Northington, Ramona Cacey, Alphonzo Bailey, LaVola Forrest, Luthesia Brown, John Ray Green, Pauline Lewis, and Helen Combs; Grandchildren, CeNeatra Kellum, Ka’Tera Barnes, Deonia Jones, Illisa Davie, Denevin Robinson, Jasherrica Barkley, Ke’Osha Robinson, Jakwayla Davie, Jameshia Babb-Hastings, Ge’Naisha Robinson, Jeremy Mercer, Alexis Elharras, Arianna Davie, and Legacy Mitchell; 23 great grandchildren; Best friends, Barbara Baker and Theresa Cheatham; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Virginia Street Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday at noon at the church.
