Despite rising waters that left their location under water last week, organizers for the Downtown Hopkinsville Farmer’s market are hoping the aftermath brings with it vendors and items for the opening of the new season next week.
Downtown Renaissance Director Holly Boggess says the farmer’s market will be every Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 at the pavilion on West Ninth Street downtown.
She also says they will be bringing back the Saturday market on a trial basis.
The farmer’s market will have locally grown produce, proteins, baked goods, bourbon, handcrafted items, and flowers. Boggess says they are still looking for more vendors.
Emalee Hudson with Hopkinsville’s Community and Development Services says they are also looking for partners to bring a little extra to the market.
Boggess says the goal of the farmer’s market is to be more than just a place to shop and browse.
The downtown farmer’s market is set to open next Thursday, April 17, at 4:00. Vendor applications can be picked up at the CDC office at 710 South Main Street, with more information on the social media pages of the Downtown Hopkinsville Farmer’s Market.
