A Louisville man was charged with DUI after he hit a deputy’s vehicle during a traffic stop on East 9th Street in Hopkinsville Tuesday afternoon.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Geovonte Anderson for improper passing and driving on the wrong side of the road, and he stopped in the Travel Inn parking lot.

During the stop, he reportedly backed into the deputy’s vehicle, causing minor damage to the vehicle.

Deputies say Anderson had slurred speech, open alcoholic beverages in the vehicle, and the smell of alcohol was emanating from the vehicle.

After field sobriety test and a breath test, he was arrested and charged with improper use of the left lane, no operator license, DUI, careless driving, and no insurance.
