CCPS Returning To School Thursday Under 1-Hour Delay

Following careful evaluation of road conditions across the community, officials with the Christian County Public Schools announced Wednesday that the district can safely open all campuses for students Thursday — with a one-hour delay to allow for better visibility.

Breakfast will be served.

AM and PM Preschool has been canceled.

Extensive flooding, however, is limiting the South Christian and Oak Grove areas, and as such, several bus routes are not going to run, and this will primarily affect students at South Christian Elementary, Hopkinsville Middle and Hopkinsville High.

Parents should use their discretion if choosing to transport their child to and from school.

Families with questions or circumstances preventing a child from returning to school should contact the child’s principal.

Canceled bus routes include:

Bus #142 Rachel McDaniels

Bus #182 Roberta Grimes

Bus #183 Jill Dihl

Bus #181 Ollie Hancock

Bus #201 Tammy Brumley

Bus #211 Tim Beal

Bus #212 Amber Belinger

Bus #216 Toni Majors

Bus #196 Tracie Salters

And Bus #135/(sub bus #551) Ronnie Rougemont

There will also be several adjustments to routes in the Pembroke area, and those affected families are going to be directly contacted. Those who depend on bus transportation should expect routes to run one hour later than normal Thursday, in response to school operating on that one-hour delay.

Furthermore, extra delays may be possible on various routes — as these changes go underway.

Inspire Early Learning Center will be open and operate with normal hours.
