The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk of severe weather for portions of the region Thursday afternoon.

Justin Gibbs, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Paducah, shared that hail will be the biggest concern.

The heightened area of concern is along the Kentucky-Tennessee border. Gibbs added most areas will not see much rainfall.

The forecast after Thursday looks to continue the pattern of drying out.

Highs on Friday will be in the 50s, the weekend will gradually climb toward 70, and by Monday highs could top out near 80.
