Wendy Ann Pruitt passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2025, at her home in Cadiz, Kentucky. She was 69 years old. Born February 7, 1956, she grew up in Benton, Arkansas.

After high school, Wendy enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in Rota Spain. Following her Navy service, Wendy pursued education in the nursing field while raising her family, culminating in her license as a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career covered many medical areas to include cardiac rehab and time as a traveling nurse to under-served communities. She retired from nursing in February 2025.

More than anything in the world, Wendy loved her children and her grandchildren. Her love was unconditional and freely given as they navigated "life." She embraced being mom and her kids were the center of her world. Mimi to her "grands," she delighted in their company and was a front row cheerleader in all their endeavors and taking great pride in their many accomplishments. Wendy was a good and loyal friend to many people and was loved by many for her warmth and genuine caring, her love of fun and the ridiculous, and the ability to laugh at herself in good times and bad.

She was an "old soul" who was always searching within her own mind and heart for a greater understanding of life, who she was and her place in the world. She looked for this understanding through the lens of faith and with a poet's soul and an artist's eye.

Wendy recently posted the following quote on Facebook: "Life is amazing. And then it's awful. And then it's amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it's ordinary and

mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That's just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it's breathtakingly beautiful." L.R. Knost

Mom. Mimi. Sister. Daughter. Aunt. Friend. Devoted. Her world, our world, is the poorer for her passing. Love you "forevah."

Wendy was a proud Navy veteran, a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cadiz, and an enthusiastic Gators fan.

She was predeceased by her parents, a brother and sister. She is mourned by her children, Ian (Brandi), Andrew (Kristin) and Eva (Josh); her grandchildren, Kiley, Lexi, Logan, Khloe, Lily, Presley Rose, Brayden, Roy, Noah, Xavier, and Kennedy; sisters Kim, Kelly and Stephanie along with her nieces and nephew, Kristin, Kathryn and Walker and many other family and friends whom she loved and who loved her in return.

A memorial service to honor Wendy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 11, 2025, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 45 Floyd Sumner Road in Cadiz, with Bro. Nick Clark officiating. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.

Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, is in care of the arrangements.
