GW “Poppy” Croft, age 79, of Gracey, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family of natural causes. The family will be having a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Gracey Volunteer Fire Department with Brother Matthew Heady and Rev. Larry Croft officiating. The visitation time will be at the fire department that morning from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
GW was born on September 23, 1945, in Christian County, KY, the son of the late Johnny Claude Croft and Elza Gaynelle Fuller Croft. He was a retired painter for Fort Campbell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, JW Croft, Larry Croft, and his sister, Maxine Gilford.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn “Grandma” Croft of Gracey, KY; his son, David (Liz) Croft of Clarksville, TN; his daughters, Lisa (Cobb) Aldridge of Lacy, KY, Angie (Wayne) Yates of Gracey, KY, Meredith (Randal) Deason of Hopkinsville, KY; his two sisters, Norma Jean Croft of Hopkinsville, KY, Paulette Croft of Hopkinsville, KY; his nine grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren.
