In the wake of recent flooding across Christian County, local organizations and volunteers are coming together to support those affected.
This Saturday, flood survivors will have access to vital recovery resources at two dedicated Flood Recovery Resource Events. The events will run from 11 AM until 1 PM, and are open to anyone impacted by the recent flooding.
There are two locations for the event:
+ The Christian County Justice Center Parking Lot, located at 100 Justice Way in Hopkinsville.
+ And the Oak Grove Community Center, at 1705 Thompsonville Lane in Oak Grove.
At both sites, flood survivors can:
+ Get information about housing, food, and cleanup assistance.
+ Pick up free cleaning supplies.
+ Learn about local and state recovery resources.
+ And enjoy a free hot lunch, provided by community volunteers.
In addition to the resource events, volunteers are invited to lend a hand. Cleanup efforts will begin at 8 AM Saturday at the Christian County Justice Center, where helpers will be assigned to neighborhoods in need of debris removal and cleanup assistance.
This is all part of a coordinated community response to ensure residents have the tools and support needed for recovery. For more information, contact Christian County Emergency Management at (270) 887-6253.
Meanwhile, support continues in Oak Grove, where YAIPAK Outreach has officially launched a new distribution site to serve flood-impacted families in Oak Grove and North Clarksville.
Thanks to the City of Oak Grove, the Oak Grove Community Center is open 8 AM until 6 PM weekdays, offering essential supplies for anyone in need.
The address again: 1705 Thompsonville Lane, Oak Grove.
And if you’re wondering about dinner tonight—it’s covered.
Through World Central Kitchen, hot meals will be served today from 4-7 PM at YAIPAK Outreach on 1255 Paradise Hill Road in Clarksville. Meals are available for both flood victims and the volunteers working tirelessly to support them.
Volunteers may also be needed to help deliver meals to local hotels housing displaced families, and to community workers like linemen and street crews. Those nearby and willing to lend a hand are welcome.
There will also be ready-to-heat meals from Butter & Grace available to take home.
