Hoptown Hose Down: Joe Mumford Park
June 10, 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
With summer heat on the rise, the Hopkinsville Fire/EMS Department and Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up again to help the community cool down.
The 2nd Annual Hoptown Hose Down partnership will have an HFD-provided pumper truck at Joe Mumford Park (1725 Woodmill Road, Hopkinsville, KY 42240) — from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 10 — to safely spray down attendees with a water hose and nozzle.
Use of the extra truck and personnel from the Fire Department will not take away from any regular services provided or emergencies responded to by HFD/EMS. Parks employees on site will be facilitating the mobile spray parks.
There is no cost for children and families to enjoy the Hoptown Hose Down experience. The collaboration between Parks and HFD will also serve as the perfect bridge to the opening of Tie Breaker Family Aquatic Center, which is scheduled for Friday, June 18.
Additionally, the Hopkinsville Christian County Family YMCA will be on-site as part of the organization’s mobile feeding program. Hot meals, prepared by YMCA staff at their facility, will be available for pick-up during the duration each Hose Down stop.
