bell hooks Mural Dedication Ceremony

The family of bell hooks is proud to announce the revealing and dedication of a new mural in downtown Hopkinsville.  The mural features a portrait of bell, strikingly similar to a mural that is prominently displayed in the city of Berea, Kentucky and was the inspiration behind this latest artistic addition to the west wall of the Christian County Historical Society.
The mural reveal and dedication ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the Christian County Historical Society located at 306 East 9^th Street in downtown Hopkinsville.  The public is invited to the ceremony where they will learn more about the life and legacy of bell hooks as well as additional upcoming community activities planned in honor and in celebration of bell and her many contributions.   
The mural was created by professional artist Ms. Paula Gieseke and her partner, Josh Warfield.  This mural recognizes and honors bell’s role as an American author, a feminist, a social activist, a distinguished professor and a Hopkinsville native.
