Mayor Knight Invites Local Citizens to Become City Diplomats

Mayor James R. Knight Jr. of Hopkinsville extends an invitation to all adult Christian
County residents and business owners to participate in the City Diplomat Program, now in its sixth iteration. This
unique opportunity empowers individuals to delve into the inner workings of municipal governance, fostering a deeper
connection to their community while gaining invaluable insights into local government operations. Participants will
engage in a dynamic curriculum including classroom sessions, interactive demonstrations, and hands-on activities
aimed at equipping them with the tools to effect positive change.
Mayor Knight expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to continue offering our citizens the chance to explore
the inner workings of city government and discover firsthand how local governance shapes our daily lives. Our aim is to
empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to actively contribute to the betterment of our community.”
The program, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on July 11th, August 7th, September 4th, October 2nd, and December 4th,
promises an enriching journey of discovery and civic engagement.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their completed applications no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 31,
