A Madisonville man was arrested on warrants and resisting arrest after police say he barricaded himself inside his residence. On New Year's Day around 8:50pm, officers responded to 30 Nisbet Street to attempt to locate 37-year old Roger McCarty on two active warrants for Failure to Appear in Hopkins County.
Upon arrival, officers said they could see and hear McCarty inside the home but he refused to open the door and barricaded himself inside the residence. Officers then got a search warrant and after using a chemical agent, police say McCarty complied with verbal commands and surrendered.
Police indicate no one was injured during the incident.
McCarty was booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center.
