A familiar face to those in the justice system is hoping to take on a new role next year. Paige Parker declared her intention to run for Christian County Circuit Clerk at an announcement Thursday afternoon at the Justice Center.
She currently serves as the Administrative Assistant to the District Judges. Parker says her 22 years of experience with the justice system will benefit her in the new job.
She has several goals for being Circuit Clerk, including appearing the courtroom.
Parker also says she wants to make sure the technology used by every agency in the state better integrated for deputy clerks. Parker will have to resign her position to run for office. She says she will be filing at the end of the month.
Circuit Clerk Gary Haddock has already filed to run for re-election. This will be the first time he has faced an opponent during his 24-year tenure. Several others passed the Circuit Clerk test in December including Parker’s husband, Terry, and Haddock’s son, Trent.
