Paducah Man Charged After Hitting Mayfield Pedestrian

A Paducah man that hit and injured a Mayfield pedestrian with his vehicle Wednesday was charged with his second DUI and other offenses. Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmond reports the accident occurred around 7:40 Wednesday morning when 62-year old Susan Crain was hit by a truck driven by 54-year old Tony Proctor of Paducah.

Eye witnesses told deputies Proctor tried to leave the parking lot at Pilgrim's Pride in Hickory and hit Crain from behind. Sheriff Redmond says one of the security guards at the plant was trying to get Proctor to stop and was almost hit as well.

Crain was transported by ambulance to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Proctor was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Assault, 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs – 2nd Offense, Leaving Scene of Accident – Failure to Render Aid or Assistance, and Failure to Maintain Required Insurance.
