Cold temperatures continue to plague the area with overnight lows recorded by the Kentucky Mesonet site at between 5 and 7 degrees. Wind chill factors were even lower. Weather Edge Forecaster David Powell says the frigid temperatures will be with us for a while longer.
There is a chance for a slight warming trend toward the end of the weekend. Powell says it is still too early to determine exactly what those temperatures will do.
Powell says the year is beginning with below normal rainfall. He says a snow would be beneficial to some crops.
