Adult, 3 Juveniles Charged In Car-Hopping Incidents

A Clarksville man and three juveniles have been charged in connection with a series of car-hopping incidents that occurred late last year. Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Sandra Brandon reports 19-year old James Adams, a 14-year old juvenile and two 17-year old juveniles, were taken into custody for stealing firearms, cash, jewelry, electronics, purses, credit and debit cards, and other items out of unlocked vehicles.

Authorities indicate 49 warrants and juvenile petitions were issued in connection with these incidents. Adams was lodged in the Montgomery County Detention Center under a $300,000 bond.

Brandon says the arrests were made after a joint effort between the Sheriff's Office and the Clarksville Police Department to solve numerous car-hopping incidents that occurred in the county and city in the latter part of 2017.

The Sheriff's Office is remind citizens to always lock your vehicles and never leave valuables in plain sight.
