The Hopkinsville Transit System continues to grow and the latest addition is a dispatch center with an indoor stop. Transit Authority Board Co-Chair, Paul Henson says most people never imagined the program would have the beginning success in 2015.
Three years later and Transit hit another milestone.
Thursday, Henson gathered with other board members, city council members, and the community to mark the opening of the new dispatch office.
Once those covered pavilions are up, he says 50 percent of bus stops will have some form of shelter if you include the ones at businesses. Mayor Carter Hendricks says the Transit would not have been possible without PACS, the city and county support, and grant funding.
The new Transit Dispatch office is on the West 13th Street side of 1200 South Clay Street. A ribbon cutting was held with the help of the Christian County Chamber of Commerce.
