Another Republican candidate has filed to run for District 3 Magistrate in Christian County. George Barnett officially filed his paperwork Wednesday among supporters.
Barnett says in a release he feels the majority of the people in Christian County do not agree with the policies or direction of the Democratic Party, and they deserve to be represented by people whose views more closely align with theirs.
He will face off against Republican Robert Webb in the May Primary. The District 3 seat is currently held by Democrat Mark Cansler, who is running for re-election.
