A family of four was displaced after a kitchen fire at a Merriwood Parkway home Thursday morning. Hopkinsville Fire Lieutenant Michael Pendleton tells the News Edge firefighters from three stations responded to the scene of the fire in the 400 block at 11:30. Upon arrival, firefighters reported moderate smoke showing from the structure. He says the majority of the fire had been knocked down prior to the crews arrival. He adds it was determined to be a cooking fire that was confined to the kitchen.
Lt. Pendleton says one adult and three children were displaced from the home due to smoke damage. There were no injuries reported.
