Legislators Hope To See Pension Bill Soon

Area legislators say they are hoping the Kentucky General Assembly will have a proposed pension plan in hand to begin debating later this week. During the weekly Legislative Edge program that airs on 96.5-100.9 WHVO, five area legislators discuss that they are looking for.

Ninth District State Representative Myron Dossett says he has been told a budget and pension plan could be discussed very soon.

Eight District Representative Walker Thomas says the first thing that needs to happen is to give the public a chance to review it.

Fourth District Legislator Lynn Bechler adds the last report he received was they were still waiting on the Kentucky Retirement System to sign off on the proposal.

Meanwhile, First District State Senator Stan Humphries says he is anxious to see some type of proposal that lawmakers can begin looking at.

Third District Senator Whitney Westerfield says he and the constituents he is hearing from are concerned that a plan is not already being discussed.

The legislator’s comments on the Pension Plan and other issues can be heard Sundays after the Noon News Edge on 96.5-100.9 WHVO.
