Law enforcement agencies were on the campus of Trigg County Schools Tuesday morning conducting a random search. Superintendent Travis Hamby tells the News Edge the search is not related to a specific concern or threat, but something that is coordinated by local law enforcement from time to time to ensure a safe school environment.
Director of Students and Personnel, James Mangels says the Cadiz and Hopkinsville Police Departments and the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office brought in drug dogs to search the school, which is done periodically.
He reiterates the search is not connected to any threat, just a routine search to keep drugs out of the schools.
Mangels says no problems were found Tuesday morning.
