Pension Bill Still In The Works In Frankfort

Legislators believe the pension reform bill and the budget bill will be released at the same time. Week six of the 2018 Kentucky General Assembly Session starts Monday and an official pension bill has not been presented in either house. For 4th District Representative Lynn Bechler, this is a not acceptable.

9th District Representative Myron Dossett says it could still be another week before they see either bill.

3rd District Senator Whitney Westerfield says what he is hearing is better for employees than originally thought, but he is worried for employers.

8th District Representative Walker Thomas says he met with Governor Matt Bevin last week.

He adds the amount of bills the Legislative Research Committee is dealing with is also slowing down the process.

1st District Senator Stan Humphries adds they continue to meet with officials to discussion concerns about pension reform and budget cuts.

He thinks the Senate will receive the bills the first part of March from the House. You can hear more comments from the Senators and Representatives during the Legislative Update Sunday after the Noon News Edge on WHVO 96.5FM and 100.9FM.
